Guide

This studio covers Year 2–3 work on fractions of amounts. To find 13 of 12, share 12 into 3 equal parts and take one part. To find 34 of 20, make 4 equal parts of 20 and take 3 of them.

The denominator says how many equal parts to share into; the numerator says how many parts to take. A common slip is to give the numerator or denominator itself as the answer (saying 13 of 12 is 3).

The last two missions make a recipe 3 times bigger and then 13 of the size: every amount changes in the same way.
