- VectorsAngles, intersections and distances in spaceFind the angle between a line and a plane, where a line meets a plane, the distance of a point from a plane and the angle between two planes, using scalar products and equations.
- ProbabilityRandom variables and expected valueGive every outcome of two dice a number, find the probability of values of that number, work out the average of a die, and decide how much a game is worth per throw.
- ProbabilityBinomial and Poisson distributionsCount the paths of a tree that give exactly k successes, see where the binomial formula comes from, and use the Poisson formula for events that arrive at random.
- ProbabilityThe normal distribution and z-scoresMark distances from the mean in standard deviations on a number line, use the 68–95–99.7 rule, work out a z-score, and find the probability in a tail.
- ProbabilitySample means, sample proportions and the central limit theoremSee that the means of samples are far less spread out than single values, work out the standard error of a mean and of a proportion, and use the central limit theorem to find a probability.
- CalculusRolle, l'Hôpital and Maclaurin seriesFind where the tangent is horizontal, find the point of the mean value theorem, take a 0/0 limit with derivatives and find a coefficient of the Maclaurin series of cosh x.
- CalculusAreas, volumes and arc lengths by integrationUse the definite integral to find the area under a curve and between two curves, a volume of revolution, an arc length and a polar area.
- CalculusDifferential equationsWrite a rate of change as a differential equation, find the solution y = Cekx on a graph and solve a separable equation with a starting condition.
