Guide

The conversion strip shows units from biggest to smallest. Between two units it says how many of the smaller unit make one of the bigger unit.

From a big unit to a small unit: multiply. 1 metre = 100 centimetres, so 3 m = 300 cm.

From a small unit to a big unit: divide. 1000 grams = 1 kilogram.

Sense-check: is the new unit smaller? Then the number must get bigger.

We measure area in square centimetres (cm²) and square metres (m²). A square metre is a square with sides of 1 m.
